Wake up, time to get up,
Make some tea,
Flossing, flossing,
The sun is out, that’s nice.
Brushing my teeth
Should I shave today?
Yes, no avoiding it.
A bite to eat
Go to the gym for a bit
The dew is gone, better mow that lawn
Lunch
Take my son for a walk
Nap time for him now
Fold some laundry with Maggie
He’s up, dinner.
Bed and bath for the little one
Some TV, some computer time
Off to bed
Repeat the next day
Wake up, time to get up,
Make some tea,
Flossing, flossing,
The clouds are pretty, that’s nice.
Brushing my teeth,
Don’t need to shave today
A bite to eat
Off to work, same route
Lunch
Driving home, same route
Hit the gym
Take my son for a walk
Empty the dishwasher
Cook some dinner
Bed and bath for the little one
Sneak in a bowl of ice cream
Read and fall asleep
Repeat the next day
Wake up, time to get up,
Make some tea,
Flossing, flossing,
Looks like rain today.
Brushing my teeth,
Shave again?
Yep, beard is pretty grey
A bite to eat
Off to work, same route
Lunch
Driving home, same route
Hit the gym
Lot’s of rain, staying in
Grass is going to grow faster
Wash some dishes
Start the grill for dinner
Skyping with family
Bed and bath for the little one
Read and fall asleep
Is that “I’ve Got You, Babe” playing on your radio alarm clock? 😉

LOL…you are too clever for your own good. It’s too bad I’ve never had a problem with too clever. 🙂

Well, I had a bit of an advantage (having seen it firsthand) while reading your poem.

You floss when you wake up? Why? Do you eat between cleaning your teeth the night before and sleeping? This doesn’t seem like very good planning.

I’m working on it! Lol I have been a very bad flosser. It is only in the last 4 months that I became a daily flosser.. I’m getting better. Of course I didn’t give the entire daily routine here. But one day I’ll be worthy of your kiss!

Great poem, Swarn. It’s what you didn’t say that I think I felt most acutely. All the stuff hidden just out of sight, the thoughts that change every day while you follow the same track to work. These are what I’m most interested in, but somehow they didn’t feel entirely absent either. Such is the beauty of a well-written piece.
Unless, of course, you really do live in Pleasantville. 🙂

I don’t think i live in pleasantville, although I suppose I’m rather the optimist and would like to see it that way. Thank you so much for your compliments, and I think you’ve definitely perceived the emotional experience I was trying to instill with this poem. 🙂

Hahaha! This was a fun read Swarn! I feel like… I feel I am SO MUCH CLOSER to you now… it’s all warm, fuzzy, homely, intimate, and habitually unpredictable! You are a new you to me! 🙂 ❤

Thanks Professor! This poem was a sudden inspiration and the visual of the poem is as important as the words themselves so I’m extremely happy at the emotional response to the poem. Even Pink’s aghast reaction at my flossing habits. 🙂

Victoria got it wrong on the song … even though she was there at you spot.Yes we all know. You cannot hide on the Internet …Mwahahahah … a
The only possible song to fit the staccato tone of the verse would be Flight of the bumble bee.
Or this …

Haha — but I know something you don’t know, which is why Swarn saw the cleverness of my post. But, anyway, your choice of music will suffice, considering. :p
